Assemblywoman Ari Espinal (D-39) has issued a challenge to her opponents for a series of three debates ahead of the September Primary Election. The election will be held on September 13th. “I am proud of my record of serving this neighborhood, and I look forward to debating my opponents. A debate is an important opportunity for candidates and officials to prove their ability to deliver for the community and discuss their views and experiences. I welcome the chance to engage with my opponents and demonstrate to voters why I should be re-elected in September,” said Espinal.
Assemblywoman Espinal is calling for the series of debates, one to be held in Corona, Elmhurst, and Jackson Heights respectively, to be run by impartial organizations and at neutral locations. The debates will cover a wide range of topics that are impacting the district, potentially including education, immigration, workers’ rights, and housing. The debates will take place on agreed upon dates post-petitioning in July and August.
